Seller's Description
After 10 years of ownership we have decided to sell our beloved 1927 Auburn 8-88 LWB tourer.
Only 19 of these LWB Tourers were built in 1927 and of these, this is believed to be the ONLY remaining car.
Sold new to a mining family in Stanthorpe QLD, the car has always been a QLD car having only three owners its entire life.
The history of the car is well known and documented and the car has been featured in restored cars magazine and won many awards over the years.
The car was fully restored to a high level by the previous owner and always well kept and sparingly used as part of our private collection.
The two-tone paintwork which is an Auburn signature, shines brightly and presents very well as does the bright work.
The interior is near immaculate with a woodgrain finish dash and matching dusty maroon coloured trim throughout.
It runs a straight 8 Lycoming engine and three speed manual gearbox which moves it down the road beautifully.
The car is a seven passenger long wheel base (147") with fold out jump seats in the back.
Extremely rare, the car attracts a crowd where ever it goes. An entry into the worlds most exclusive car club, The Auburn- Cord- Duesenberg club.
People describe the car commonly as magnificent and its offered for sale now for only the second time ever in its history and the first time in almost a decade. An amazing car for a true enthusiast or collector.
