Seller's Description
This is not a Buick. The Marquette was a cheaper "Companion" car made by Buick in preparation for the 1930 model year. The most notable difference was the side valve engine never used by Buick. Production started in July 1929 and ceased by June 1930 - probably the first victim of the 1929 stock market crash and ensuing depression. Several thousand were made in USA but only 768 chassis came to Australia. Holden made 465 Sedans (£440) and 303 Tourers (£365). Sales were slow with the last 7 units sold in 1933. This Tourer is one of the 303 Tourers built in Australia, so a very rare find indeed. An older restoration still in very good condition. Has 12V electrics. 6 cylinder; Side Valve No.-13182 engine with 3 speed floor shift. Chassis No. 13117.
