1932 chevrolet ba confederate coupe
Seller's Description
The car is near complete , with only the front windscreen and the 2 door glasses missing (Flat glass)The original woodwork is 98% all there and the majority is in nice condition ,except the bottom runners may need replacing as does the timber in the rumble seat lid(some there for patterns).and the door jambs where the hinges bolt to are a bit wornout. Both the doors are intact with all door and window mechanisms in place. The body is straight and has a few spots of rust on the inner wheel arch area where the body is screwed to the timber frame and a bit on one lower corner of the dicky seat lid.The RHS front fender has a bit of a split(as most do)near the top of the arch. The chrome on brass radiator surround is in nice but not mint condition as is the grille itself and Bowtie badge, I have a Repro Crank hole cover for it too. Also there is a original eagle radiator cap in around 95% condition(very Rare) and an original Honeycomb radiator and all it's mounting brackets etc.The bonnet and it's 8 hinged doors are in excellent condition. The original fabric/vinyl roof covering will need to be replaced as it has a hole and split at the seems. Running boards look OK but can easily be replaced as they are timber. To come with the car is a original Luggage rack for the rear and it's rear mounted spare wheel and mounting bracket, also the very rare and original alloy foot steps that go on bumper and LHS rear Guard for entry into the Rumble seat.and a very nice set of gauges etc for the dashboard. A redone steering wheel, a nice free wheeling control cable and knob. The bumper and bumperettes will need to be redone for front and back and I have a new front bumper center tie bar. The motor I have for it , I bought as a recoed short ,it was rebuilt back in the 50s and I believe done with the babitt type original bearings , new pistons etc. The gearbox looks very nice and only guessing it would be in great condition , if the outside is any indication and has the freewheeling device . It has a very nice Head and comes with all parts , carby, manifold etc, including a complete new gasket set. And other new parts including dist cap spark plug wires points etc etc. Also has a very nice orig air cleaner, and I think I've got a reco starter and generator there as well (haven't seen this stuff for years). It comes with a beautiful pair of totally redone Head lamps and a nice set of double tie bars c/w the cast bar to guard pads and new rubber gaskets and also a nice original trumpet horn and mounting bracket that goes on the h/l tie bar.I also have new Repro parts like, original style complete wiring harness (front to rear,I think), made by (Electra loom, Sydney from memory), repro inner and outer chrome door handles with lock and keys, inside chrome window cranks and also the windscreen wind up T handle for winding up the front screen about 2" and the New seat adjusting T handle for winding the seat back and forth. There are also 5(I think) new repro magic looking stainless hubcaps. A new repro complete tail light and the original stalk it mounts on. Flexible chrome (maybe Stainless) wiring covers for H/Ls and T/Light, New Rumble seat T handle , Locking with keys.New Bonnet to cowl welting. Also have new set of brake linings/shoes for all round. The tires are not the greatest but I think a couple are still pumped up and I have 2 very nice 18' to go with car and of course there is a spare wheel. I also have a nice glove box manual and lots of other info and paperwork to go with it , specifications etc . Not sure if I've missed anything as I haven't seen most of this stuff for many years now,all stored away. The interior will of course need re furbishing ,upholstery etc , and the whole car will need restoring to bring it up to it's former glory. As I mentioned I have owned this car for over 30 years and have bought lots of parts along the way as you can see. This baby is extremely rare , and I believe it to be the only 32 HOLDEN bodied Chevy 3 window Coupe in existence. Also these are different to the American cars and much nicer looking I think, (that's if you can find a American built vehicle) as they have the rounded door window openings which look great , and the top material on roof does not extend to the screen on the HOLDEN body like it does on the YANK style. The Ozzie 32's also had the twin bumper system , unlike the American vehicles that had one wider band. Also apart from raising the front screen a couple of inches for ventilation my coupe I think was the only style to have a cowl vent as well. Note the long cowl on this car, and by the way I have a very nice stainless cowl band to go with it. 32 Chevy's have long been known as the prettiest chevy of that era and looking at my little coupe it is easy to recognize why. Take a look at the lines and how everything is proportioned. The low roof line on it has had many Rodders who have seen it, saying it would look great as a Rod as the roof doesn't need to be chopped. I have never seen a Ford that ever looked this good and they always want an arm and a leg just for the bodies ,and I can never see why. I am asking $30 Grand for this baby and you would have the coolest and rarest Coupe's in the country.
