Seller's Description
This 1948 Morris Eight Series E was a daily driver prior to the current owner purchasing it. The original colour scheme was Maroon and Black however the current owners opted for a colour change when they decided to give the car a closed door respray in 2 pack. The interior is all original and mostly leather. The vehicle features a crank-out windscreen for great airflow. The four wheel drum brakes have been serviced with new wheel cylinders, brake lines and master cylinder. The starter motor has been rebuilt. New windscreen and new seals for all three rear fixed windows. All gauges and instruments work correctly. New floor boards fitted right through on the right side. New generator and battery. The vehicle is currently registered in Qld on restricted use. The Series E brought a major restyle to the Morris Eight with a ''waterfall'' dummy grille, headlights in the wings and the running boards had gone. There was now an ''inbuilt luggage compartment with external access boot lid. There was also a parcel tray the full width of the dashboard. The ''alligator'' bonnet was now rear hinged. The engine was upgraded to the Morris USHM series, getting a new cylinder head and the gearbox was now four-speed with synchromesh on second, third and top. The Lucas electrics remained at 6 volts, but now with automatic regulation of the dynamo in a two-brush system. Top speed was around 58 mph (93 km/h). This Morris Eight is consigned with us and is in the care of the owner in Narangba Qld. Inspections are by appointment only.
