1955 CHEVROLET BELAIR INJECTED 406ci AIR RIDE, 4 LINK 9â A/C SHOW CAR
Ever increasing in popularity the tri 5 Chevy has a cult following dating back to the very decade they were produced.
This particular car is no exception to that, with a complete and comprehensive ground up custom restoration into what can only be described as breathtaking.
Just to list a few of the engine components, Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminium heads, polished Edelbrock performer alloy intake, Terminator EFI 4 barrel throttle body with hand held digital controller, Co Forged pistons, Thumper Comp cam, custom made and fitted aluminium radiator and A/C condenser, itâs clear this engine and bay has been given first class treatment. The detailed Hemi air cleaner ads a nice touch to finish out the beautifully presented engine bay.
Drive line and transmission are by way of a Turbo 700R4 4 speed auto with floor mounted Lokar Shifter with a 2500rpm stall converter. Brand new Currie 9inch posi drive differential with 3.90 gears. The brakes are done with a CPP hydro boost system, chromed booster, stainless and braided lines and Wilwood 6 piston front callipers and 4 piston rears. All of the suspension has been reworked, restored and beautifully powder coated to match the theme of this build.
The car sits on a custom made set of Billet Intro 18âx8 front wheels and 20âx10 rears with Toyo Proxes 4 ST tyres,225/45/18 front and 294/40/20 rears.
The bodywork on the 55 Chevy has been done with only perfection in mind. Absolutely flawless panel alignment and gaps, perfectly straight and without a single defect in the body. Beautifully applied House of colour clear over base paintwork. The orange and black theme is throughout the car and sets off nicely with the discrete flames on the inside of mouldings.
To add to this bodywork and paint is the utterly beautifully done chrome and stainless work. All mouldings, bumpers, trims and badges present in flawless condition with discrete locks and nicely thought out touches.
The interior is by way of a full custom fit out. Black leather and vinyl has been used along with hand laid carpets and perfectly crafted seats, headliner, parcel shelf, door cards and console. A tasteful dash sits before the driver with an 18â Alpine monitor, Vintage A/C system controls in the custom made lower panel, Danchuck signature series instrument cluster and again perfectly presented.
This is not any ordinary 1955 Chevy 2 door. Not even extra ordinary compares. This is a top level show car with invites to the biggest car shows and displays in the country. Summer nats, Motor Ex and more. As is the case with cars of this nature, they need to be seen to truly be appreciated.
At a fraction of the cost to build, the car is ready and waiting for the next show minded individual to add to their collection or just to enjoy on its own.
