•Fully rebuilt 138 “Grey motor”
•Original Owner’s Manual
•Freshly stained wood floor
•Gearbox, diff, brakes and suspension components have all been reconditioned with new bushes and lines
•Rust free body
This FE ute has undergone a ground up rebuild. Featuring a fully rebuilt ‘grey motor ‘including Jack Myre headers and custom exhaust, the engine looks, runs and sounds great. The gearbox, diff, brakes and suspension components have all been reconditioned with new bushes and lines throughout.
Finished in striking spearmint green and fitted with widened Torana wheels and HR hubcaps, the ute tray has received a freshly stained wood floor, and the interior has also been renewed in period correct style and colour.
Finding a workhorse ute in such fine condition is rare indeed, but this 60-year old FE Holden ute is clean and tidy and features a recent restoration in its original colour.
Presented in great overall condition, with its original Owner’s Manual intact, it maintains all the features that made this marque so popular. Its timber-lined load area appears unused and comes complete with a flawless tonneau cover. The 138 “Grey” in-line six-cylinder engine couples to its original three-speed manual column shift gearbox. This example is a pleasure to drive and is one of the finest examples in existence - ready for work or play.
Compared with its predecessor (the FJ), the FE had a larger body, roomier interior, longer wheel base, wider track, lower roof, larger rear window and flatter bonnet. It also included a recirculating ball steering box, 12-volt electrical system, front stabiliser bar, wider wheel rims, a one-piece rounded windscreen and pendant type pedals.
