Seller's Description
This is a Canadian 1958 Dodge Regent Hardtop coupe so it’s the same as the US 1958 Plymouth Hardtop coupe from the firewall back but had a different front clip. 1957 Plymouth guards and headlights have now been fitted. I guess a lot of people know these as the car from the cult movie “Christine.” I was going to make it a full Christine clone but then preferred the white hockey stick rather than the aluminium inserts. I also got more into FL cars rather than just being a Christine fan.
While there is probably less than 20 Plymouth 2 door HT coupes in Australia, this is the only 58 Dodge Regent coupe in Australia. I had to pay to get the car entered into the Australian database of cars so the make and model of car was on the system(No I'm not talking about entering the VIN onto the system). It has been on full rego but I used it less than 40 times since importing it in 2016 so no real point being on full rego. Club Rego non transferable. It has a 1967 383 Dodge BB with mild cam 8 3/4 rear end from a mid 60’s so no pain in the butt spline that needs a drum puller.
60’s Alloy 727 Torqueflite but still push button and handbrake drum on transmission New brake lines rear and front New Brake MC and 6 slave cylinders (These cars have 4 on the front wheels) Intake manifold replaced Please understand that this is not a showroom floor car. If you're an Aust FL fan then you know what you would be paying for a showroom one. Yes for the same price you could get a Chev or Cadillac that’s spotless but they are easy to find.
From FL lovers and Christine fans these cars that were already in low numbers became desirable and harder to find. It’s a pretty car and an absolute head turner and wherever you go the cameras are out or people want a chat. Guys and girls of all ages just fall in love with the old girl. They either are just in awe over the car or yell out "Christine". I’ve had muscle/classic cars before but have never seen peoples reactions like I do with this car. They are truly something to see in person. I love this car and have wanted one since the 80’s but no point owning if I don’t use it. I’m not desperate to sell and took me 2 months to get to this decision. Where I live in Sydney is just not a pleasure to drive it.
I am completely honest when selling something. I hate dishonest pricks who crap on people. I will answer serious questions.. I'm laid back and am easy going but I just don't take crap. Don't bother low balling, I would rather keep it. Don't use a good ol' tactic, I've seen them all over the years. No swaps or trades and I can not stress enough, absolutely no d*ckheads
