Seller's Description
Selling a 1958 FC Holden Special utility. This vehicle is complete mechanically with original grey motor and standard 3 speed transmission with complete differential and brakes. I have a carburetor but no air cleaner. This ute has rust in all the usual places however the early Holden utes are always the hardest to find in any condition and this one will restore up to be a nice vehicle. The bonnet still has the original Holden lettering and the instrument panel is complete and in restorable condition. The original rear vision mirror and windscreen wipers are present and in the glove box. The windscreens and glass are all sound with no cracks and should clean up ok. The special chrome strips on the body are mostly present with the large side ones usable as are the rear window dividers. This ute will require a complete restoration however the hard to get bits are present. Wheel rims are rusty but ok for a sample. ID plates are present with a special load warning plate fitted for the utility in the engine bay. Both doors are good and the only damage is to the left front trailing wheel arch opening. The grille is in good condition missing one horizontal bar, it has no hubcaps. It even has fitted to the front bumper a canvas waterbag holder, you can't get more Australian than that. If you are wanting to restore an Australian icon then the Holden ute of this vintage is definitely one as it can never more be replicated or replaced. I did not want to see this vehicle go to waste as it is a part of Australian motoring history and the value of Holdens now are well and truly on the move up. This is your chance to secure a very worthwhile project and pay for it as you go. This ute is sold as is where is with any responsibility of transport by the purchaser. Thanks for your time and I hope it is what you are looking for.
