Seller's Description
This awesome wagon was found in the hills behind Los Angeles in the USA about 8 years ago. It was a one family owned vehicle. $80,000AUD & countless hours have been invested in this timeless beauty to restore her to her former glory. Below is a summary of the restoration & the specs that now complete the vehicles rebuild here in Australia. It was found complete and fairly straight (dent in RHR door and RHR quarter). It appeared fairly rust free upon purchase, however when it arrived here in Australia and restoration commenced, it became evident that the floors were not in great shape so they were replaced. The only other rust area found was in the end of the LH outer sill, about the size of an egg, which is a common area to be found. Originally this sport wagon was Red with White roof and had a 318 poly with a push button auto (no park position). It's now been performance enhanced with a tough 440 that still has a standard bore and crank. Has new rings and bearings etc & a Mild Edelbrock cam. A Billet Specialties Serpentine Belt and Pulley system has been installed on the engine which includes a new 100 amp alternator, new P.S pump, water pump and air-conditioning compressor. The 727 auto is a new B&M with a 2000 stall convertor. Diff is a narrowed 9” LSD with 2.60 ratio. Brakes are BA Falcon on the front with new slotted rotors and new calipers and the rear are EL Falcon with new calipers and rotors. Master cylinder and double diaphragm booster are new accessory units. Every bush, ball joint, tie rod, idler arm, drag link, wheel bearing and bump stop has been replaced with a new one. All the chrome work has been re-chromed. All stainless has been repaired and polished. All the lenses have been replaced with either new ones or the best second hand ones that could be sourced. Headlights are 'Phillips Crystal Vision'. Keeping you cool in summer, a new under dash air conditioner has been installed. Also has a new blue tooth stereo unit to punch out the tunes. Has a new windscreen. All weather stripping replaced. Blakemore's Automotive Upholstery completely overhauled the interior in a beautiful leather and cloth combination replicating it's original factory design. The roof lining was custom designed & floors/rear of vehicles interior were finished with Mercedes brand carpet to give it an added look of quality & touch. The steering wheel and horn also have been leather covered. Detailed photos of the stitching have been captured in photos attached to this advert. A total of $12k invested on an interior that showcases classic design with premium finish. Exterior was painted by Rod Fuchs in ``Empress Black``. Panel repairs and mini tubing was done by Tim Johnson, Nambour. The inner rear guards were moved in by 65mm each side and the 3rd row seat was narrowed by 130mm. Rear springs moved into the chassis. Wheels are 18x8 Coys on the front and 20x14 Coys on the rear. Mod plate covers LHD, engine, trans and brake upgrade. Car is on full rego as an 8 seater. Shifter is Lokar and so are the accelerator and kick down cables. Fuel tank is custom made. Air shockers are fitted to the rear and HD 4WD Monroe shocks are on the front. Fuel gauge and sender unit was sent off to ``Otto’s Instruments`` in Brisbane to be repaired at a investment of $300 but they still don’t work. All the wiring was done by Killa Kables, Gympie. Car was built more as a cruiser and returns about 17 MPG on a trip. This stunning wagon has received some recent awards; 2nd place for ``Peoples Choice`` at Ettamogah's annual Australia Day 'Show & Shine' ``Best Interior`` at PCYC car show All modifications are mod plated & is currently registered in QLD. The personalised plates can be sold with the vehicle upon request. Transport can be arranged to any destination in Australia. Overall the paint is fantastic, body is straight, however there are just a few minor flaws that can be found. They are; on the bonnet there are 2 small areas near the chrome trim that appear to be air bubbles caused by the screws to the underside of bonnet holding trim. It seems as though slight lifting in the paint has been caused when the trim has been fitted post paint. Detailed pics have been taken and pointed out. There is also a small scuff/scratch to the left hand rear on the under side of 1/4 panel where when fitting the fuel tank upon completion of restoration, the panel was scuffed. You only notice it when bending down & looking for it. The only other minor area that could be corrected is the rear window seal is slightly rolled on the right hand bottom side from the electric rear window operating in a up and down motion.
