1960 m.g. mga roadster

This MGA was firstly rebuilt in 1990 and since then owned by three MG Car Club members over 34 years. Initially built from the ground up as a club competition car, in my ownership it has had a full mechanical rebuild replacing most original components for new replacements. Engine The 1800cc block was rebored 40th, crank regrind, new pistons & rings, cam followers, push rods, oil and water pump, timing chain and cogs, etc. Full head work, new valves, springs etc. Electrics New starter motor, alternator, electronic distributor, etc Suspension and brakes New calipers, rotors, rear shoes and brake cylinders, bushes, bearings. New battery and Falken tyres. Koni shocks fitted to rear. New carpets, seats. Weber with 3 branch exhaust, new electronic petrol pump. Overdrive gearbox makes high speed cruising a delight. Known in the MGCC as the Silver Bullet, she is a lively lady that is exhilarating to drive as you hold the Moto-Lite wood rim steering wheel and flip in the overdrive for stress free highway cruising. Although she has been given a new lease of life during 2020, she still wears her Mercedes silver gown from 1990. She wears her age very well and retains the patina of 34 years without any sign of rust in her bodywork. She is not a show pony – she’s a go pony with only 2000 miles since her full mechanical rebuild. I’ve had a great deal of fun with her but she’s part of a stable of two other MGs in our collection.
