1962 VALIANT S SERIES SN: 4144 VIN: 1128123839 ENG: S226122 $55,000 (To be sold Unregistered & with Vic RWC) A SPECIAL AUSSIE WITH AN AMERICAN FLAIR The SV1 Valiant, known as the S Series was built in Wyoming, USA and assembled by Chrysler Australia in their Mile End plant in West Adelaide. In all, just 10,009 examples were produced from March 1962 until April 1963. This 1962 Valiant S Series has been the subject of a full restoration in its original Berger Light Blue exterior with a very smart looking blue and silver interior sporting the almost obligatory Venetian blind sunshade in the rear window and all the original appointments. The Valiant S Series had the 225ci Slant Six that was a big step forward for Australian assembled cars in the early 1960s. This Slant Six delivers its power through a Push Button 3 Speed TorqueFlite Automatic, another Chrysler Hallmark. Compared to the EK Holden and the XL Falcon that were the competition when the Valiant S Series was launched, the Valiant was significant advance, with it’s 145 bhp, almost twice that of the Holden’s 75 bhp and significantly more than the Falcon’s 90 bhp.
