1964 Morris Elf (actually RILEY ELF Mk.2 ). ONE OWNER (60 years). TOTAL GROUND-UP RESTORATION JUST COMPLETED ! WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW WHILE LIVING IN LONDON in April 1964 . We had it specially ordered from the Riley factory because the local BMC dealer had never seen one in his showroom. Our Riley was always cared for and garaged and in 1974 we brought it back to Australia in the hold of a passenger liner . Because this is a genuine UK Riley Elf , and not a NZ import assembled CKD using some local parts , it has a special character including genuine English cowhide seat trim. Recently it was decided to celebrate its 60th birthday with a total ground-up restoration. The car was totally stripped and spent 6 months with Dreamworks Restorations for body bead blasting and 2-pak baked enamel paintwork alone AND the paintwork has now been ceramic coated to maintain the flawless paintwork. Every aspect of the car has been fully professionately restored to a very high standard c/w engine rebuilt & converted to 1100cc, gearbox / differential/ clutch rebuilt and now fully synchro, relays on electrical circuits, all new hydraulics & brakes, all new chrome, timberwork professionally restored, restored interior trim, new 12" wheels/ Yokohama tyres/battery, new steering, restored fuel system, new drive train , new electrics (even the clock and original radio have been rebuilt), stainless steel exhaust system, new cooling system (inc. heater), electronic ignition and so on. Full documented history of restoration as well as full details of services and repairs during its lifetime ( a shelf full ) , original purchase documents , sales brochure, Owners Manual and even the original UK official log book ! Currently on club plates. Also, if you know your Minis, you will notice lots of 1960's period accessories have been fitted. Comes also with original 10" wheels and nearly new tyres and a genuine Riley Elf Workshop Manual A very large investment in the restoration to create an irreplaceable rare classic mini !
