Seller's Description
1965 JAGUAR MKII 3.4 – FULL GROUND UP RESTORATION AND OPTIONED WITH HIGHLY DESIRABLE 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. Released to immense fanfare in 1959, the Jaguar MKII embodies better than just about any other Jaguar ever built Sir William Lyon’s philosophy of “grace, pace, and space”. When you drive this amazing Jaguar you are amazed by how similar it drives to today’s modern cars, especially when you consider the slow, cumbersome offerings from Jaguar’s competitors. So well balanced and exceptional the performance, it was raced in the Touring Car Championships around the world and absolutely dominated, winning 2 titles in 1962 and 3 titles in 1963. So legendary the Mark II became, it was driven by Roger Moore in the TV show Inspector Morse and was the car of choice for all villains in the day. Often overlooked, the twin SU carburetted 3.4L was short just 10 horsepower to the 3.8L, yet was known for being a better-balanced vehicle and the far more popular engine choice for enthusiast drivers. This particular example we have on offer here would have to be one of the finest, best-kept examples anywhere. Finished in beautiful solid BRITISH RACING GREEN with pristine BEIGE CONNOLLY LEATHER TRIM, this example is also FITTED WITH FOUR WHEEL DISC BRAKES from new AND POWER STEERING. Everywhere you look, you are greeted by beautiful period features – everything from the lashings of leather to the beautiful brightwork, the real handcrafted timber trims, and the hand tensioned wire spoke wheels. This pristine example was given a ground-up restoration to the highest standard in recent years and presents as one of the finest examples anywhere today. The stunning interior was totally refurbished by Garry Blackman in original spec Connolly leather, the mechanicals were totally refurbished by AC Smeaton Engineering and all the paintwork was completed by Specialty Panel Repairs. Accompanying this exceptional example are all the relevant receipts and documentation TOTALLING ALMOST $150,000 including current scheduled major service AND miscellaneous maintenance items on top of the original purchase price of the car for approximately $30,000 coming to a total investment of OVER $180,000!!!! All this verifies the cost-no-object standard this car has been restored to over a period of 4 years. All restoration documentation with photos are available upon request. Act quick, as this pristine example will not last long. Don’t be fooled and by the cheaper ones on the market, even if we were asking $150,000 this would still be the best value example on the market as to restore another MKII to this exceptional standard would be outrageously, prohibitively expensive, and take 5 years of your life, all the hard work and many years of restoration work have been done, nothing to spend, simply drive it to your next Jaguar club event and win the trophy. We think that this FAST APPRECIATING ASSET is worth much, much more and will continue to go up in value for many more years to come, but for a quick and efficient sale we are asking ONLY $98,990.
