1966 Buick Skylark Gran Sport 2-door Hardtop Coupe powered by a 6.6L 401cui 325hp V8 GM Buick 'Nailhead' small block engine and driven by a 2-speed Super Turbine 300 automatic transmission w/ 'Switch Pitch' torque converter. This 1st generation (1964-1967) mid sized Skylark shared the same chassis as the then new Chevrolet Chevelle, Pontiac Tempest and Oldsmobile's F-85 in the General Motors lineup. Inspired in no small part by the sales success of Pontiac's Tempest, LeMans and GTO models, a 'Gran Sport' option became available in mid 1965. In 1966 the Gran Sport became a model in it's own right, no longer an option, and featured Buick's legendary 401-cubic-inch-V8 with a Carter 4-barrel carburetor that produced 325 hp. It also featured unique 'Gran Sport' badging, a heavy-duty radiator and dual exhaust. In the ensuing years the Buick Gran Sport became known as the GS 400 to reflect its engine size. This is an original survivor car that has been meticulously maintained and kept, and it presents in amazing condition. It has recently had the windscreen, headliner and dashboard replaced.
