Up for sale regretfully is my XP Wagon. She was my daily driver for years with the plans to do a full restoration job but unfortunately as these things go life has taken a different path..
So the rundown-
THE GOOD STUFF
At one point painted to be close to original colours (but not quite exact)
No aftermarket modifications
Currently running a 144ci engine (installed when the odometer started again) but the original matching 170 super pursuit engine comes with the car. The 144 is in perfect running condition but the 170 would need a recon if you were to reinstall. a 200csi motor is also included in the sale. The 200 was purchased from superoo some years back and has been reconditioned but I didn’t install it due to not matching up to the original gear box.
All under the hood stuff has been rebuilt or reconditioned-
Carby has new seal kit
new radiator
rebuild original generator
rebuilt starter motor
aftermarket electric fuel pump removed and changed back to rebuild original motor driven fuel pump.
Rebuilt 3 speed gear box
All other running gear in great working order, ALTHOUGH car has not been driven in some time so would be worth giving it a once over.
Tyres in good condition.
Interior is in very original condition
Horn ring still intact
Dash instruments in great condition
Headliners original and in great condition
Seats are original with original bench seats
Original floor vinyl
All door windows intact
Original keys
All lights in good nick
All letters on bonnet and tailgate are intact
Original West Australian number plates (Rare!)
Small box of spare parts included (Original radio (not complete), extra hubcaps etc.)
THE BAD
Rust. Yep theres rust. But if your in the know you can fix it as you can get all the required skins at pretty darn good prices. The floor pans need replacing. Most panels have rust patches you’d need to address.
Back window doesn’t wind up - This is a simple fix as a small strut that pushes the window up has rusted out, would be very easy to fabricate.
Seat upholstery is torn badly in a few spots. Back seat is 95% good. Front is 50% good.
Chrome. Front chrome is OK with some pitting. Back bumper chrome is bad and would need a rechrome. Other exterior chrome is OK. Interior chrome is all OK with only minor pitting.
One door is not sitting perfectly straight.
Some dodgy previous repairs with some bog that is cracking
At the end of the day what your getting is a rare original XP wagon that after some love will become a great car. As stated its a regretful sale so don’t go offering stupid amounts as I’m in no rush to sell.
