1966 Super Minx wagon, bought in Tasmania from original owners in 2009. New engine built by Rootes specialist Simon Nuske with all new ancillaries – new carburettor, starter motor, electronic ignition, water pump. Many other components reconditioned or replaced including brake lines, brake and clutch cylinders re-sleeved, exhaust system replaced, radiator re-cored, new seatbelts using original buckles… Runs very well. It was my daily driver Upwey to Camberwell for 5 years. Professionally serviced in March ($400). The new engine alone cost over $3,000!
The car needs work to the interior, some small patches of rust and obviously the paint. The floors and sills are good. The only major issue is that the right tailgate hinge mount is rusted out and needs replacement.
The car comes with parts not fitted in photos including bumpers, headlight surrounds, dashboard wood and other trim along with a new set of custom carpets and a whole heap of other spares.
