1967 Ford Fairlane 500 XL Convertible powered by a 5.8L 408cui Stroker V8 Ford Cleveland small block engine and matched to a built C4 3-speed floor-shift automatic transmission and driven through a Currie 9`` posi rear differential. The car shows very nicely with Candy Apple Red paint, and features 4-wheel disc brakes, Mustang II rack & pinion steering, 4-bbl carburetor, extractors & polished Torque Thrust alloy wheels. This is a great looking Fairlane Convertible which has seen a restoration some time ago, both mechanically and cosmetically. It now features Candy Apple Red paint with Red vinyl interior. The original 289 engine has been with replaced with a 351 V8 Cleveland bored to a 408cui stroker producing plenty of horsepower. The C4 has been rebuilt and the original rear diff has been replaced with a heavy-duty Currie 9`` posi diff. The front end now sees a Mustang II rack & pinion steering upgrade and the original drum brakes have been replace with 4-wheel disc brakes. Engine upgrades include extractors, aluminium heads, 4-bbl carburetor, aluminium intake and aluminium radiator. This car certainly performs and handles far better than stock! There are some minor paint & rust bubble issues in the lower sections of the passenger side doors and rear quarter, around the trunk lid and some stone chips and scratches on the bonnet. This Fairlane 500 XL convertible is certainly a fun car, which has excellent curb appeal! It is not a show car, but it does present nicely, and is ready for weekend cruising.
