1968 HOLDEN GTS MONARO. BIG BLOCK. ENGINEERED.
This HK Monaro is a well known Adelaide build, widely respected for obvious reasons. If you want a car to make a statement... THIS is it.
It is a fully engineered Silver Mink BIG BLOCK engined car with a beautiful original red interior. Sitting on Centerline Auto Drags, 15x8.5 / 15x5 this car simply stops people in their tracks. Yes that is a BIG BLOCK with a Holley 950 Dominator under the standard bonnet.
The engine is a '454' built by RC Race Engines in Adelaide utilising a SCAT crank, SCAT rods and AFR 315 alloy heads. The exhaust from the ceramic coated headers is pure fabrication art. Full stainless with Magnaflow mufflers and solenoid cut outs all operated from the centre console switch array. MSD 6AL2 ignition. This engine commands attention and will part a crowd at any car meet like the Red Sea. Make no mistake this is not just a lumpy cam and loud mufflers, this is not a vehicle for the newbie or inexperienced.
The engine feeds to a Turbo 400 transmission and a stall convertor designed to hook up and make use of the huge torque and horsepower. A 9" Ford diff is equipped with 31 spline axles and set on Caltracs that bite. This HK sits right and launches predictably.
Even on a 30 degree day, the engine runs comfortably in the 180-200f range thanks to the Ron Davis radiator and twin indpendent fans.
The interior is complimented with Autometer gauges and a quality toggle switch console for the MSD, two fans, exhaust solenoids and line lock.
