Seller's Description
1968 Mercury Montego Police Cop Ford Falcon Fairlane Fairmont Torino Being sold with lights (use at your own discretion), new PA siren light controller installed. 1968 Mercury Montego, it's a dry honest California car with 86,000 original miles, it was a civilian car dressed up to look like a period Nevada police vehicle.. all period police livery was designed and can still be produced by a specific qld graffics/sign company, new paint job 18months ago at a cost of $9500 in prep for a movie role but a change in artistic direction meant it was never used & sat in storage. Was not a closed door or cheap mexican paint job, all done here in australia including inside all the door jambs etc. There was absolutely NO rust in the car, just a few shopping trolley dents prior to paint, have all before pics. It runs it's original 302 Windsor, C4, power brakes and power steering, was fitted with new Goodyear whitewalls (inverted so blackwall is on outside for that cop car look), complete reconditioned carby, brakes gone over with some new parts, new muffler, it drives really smooth. Very tidy interior, perfect headlining, the only things that let it down is a tear in drivers seat, 2x kick panels (same as 68-69 US Fairlane, Torino, Ranchero, Cyclone, 68-70 US Falcon) and split in dashpad. And in the past few months it had a recored radiator done by Hot Spot in Beenleigh done at a cost of $880. Represents great value compared to local ford counterparts, option for TV/movie work in future, import papers included. Lightbar included. Or paint roof and front doors for an all black car. NO SWAPS. Has been previously QLD Registered, selling as is without RWC,
