Seller's Description
Dodge's R/T (“Road and Track”) performance history dates back to the late 1960's. Over the years many different Dodge models offered an R/T edition.
The first R/T was a high performance version of the 1967 Dodge Coronet. Offered in both hardtop and convertible form, the R/T featured a 440 cubic-inch V-8 power plant, heavy-duty suspension, beefier brakes, larger tyres and distinctive R/T badging With angular good looks, a wide aggressive stance and a mighty big block engine, these cars were an instant hit in the American muscle race for more cubic inches.
This immaculate fully restored Dodge Coronet R/T is powered by its original HI-PO Police Interceptor 440 cubic inch Magnum power plant with 4-barrel carburetor, mild cam, twin exhausts and factory cast iron manifolds. Offering 375++ horsepower, it has a three speed heavy duty automatic transmission with overdrive, its original 8 & 3/4 differential and factory 5-star chrome wheels. There are hood and fender mounted turn signal markers, wide side mouldings, front bucket seats with centre console and all factory gauges.
The car has its original air grabber hood, power steering, vinyl top and bucket seats. The paint is absolutely stunning with deep layers of bronze covered by additional layers of clear, it has a depth and clarity rarely seen. The brakes have been relined and head gasket and manifold gaskets redone for entry into Australia. The exhaust has also been refurbished. Ready to drive anywhere, this is a rare and stunning car – a true American muscle car that is rapidly appreciating in value.
