One of the best examples of a GT-HO Phase III in Australia and the 2019 GT Nationals “Best Restored GT-HO” Winner. "Build number 219" This vehicle was originally sold by Anderson Ford in Perth, WA. The car has since had only 2 Western Australian owners and, in addition to the matching chassis and engine number, miraculously retained the original registration plates! The matching original books will also be supplied with this collector's dream. This vehicle was purchased in 2016 by the current owners (3 owner car) where it underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration. New old stock parts were used keeping the vehicle in original OEM specification. The Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III was built for racing homologation with a heavily upgraded engine, a four speed Top-Loader gearbox and Detroit Locker Nine Inch differential. It was also equipped with special brakes, handling package, plus a 36 Imperial gallons (164 litre) fuel tank. To satisfy insurers, the GTHO’s 351 Cleveland Engine Output was understated as 300 BHP (224kw). It is generally accepted to produce in the region of 350 – 380BHP (265 – 283kw). Initial cars were equipped with an electrical rev limiter which came into effect at 6,150 RPM. With the rev limiter disabled the engine was reputed to pull in excess of 7,000 RPM, even in 4th gear! At that time, the Phase III GTHO was the world’s fastest four-door production car.
