Seller's Description
How’s this for a true Aussie classic? This tidy, matching numbers 1971 HG Kingswood presents extremely well for it’s half century age and has truly stood the test of time. At first glance it is apparent that the body has been kept extremely well, with all exterior panels straight with no bangs, dings or scratches. The chrome bumpers and trims are also in good condition with no obvious signs or damage. Upon inspecting the undercarriage you will find a rust free solid floor and pans, with the added protection of an electronic rust protection system. Overall this is a very straight and solid car!
Open the drivers door and you’ll find an iconic front bench seat upholstered in blue vinyl with matching door cards and dash to match. There are no major signs of damage in the upholstery other than 2 small tears that are found on the drivers and passengers door cars. The dash and parcel shelf are also in great condition with no cracks. The interior is mostly original apart from the upgraded stereo system fitted to twin 12″ alpines in the rear which is hidden well.
Under the bonnet you will find the original matching number 186 motor that has been slightly worked to give this cruiser that Holden rumble. Motor work includes a bore of 40 thou over and mild cam, a 450 4 barrel vacuum secondary Holley has been fitted as well. The ‘3 on the Tree’ matching numbers transmission is the icing on the cake for the true classic style ride. Upgraded front disc brakes and system to that of a HG GTS Monaro have been fitted to more than adequately stop this real steel sedan.
This Kingswood definitely makes a perfect weekend cruiser, you are sure to love the matching numbers and the excellent overall condition.
