Check-out this rare little gem! This 2 door Cortina is a rare appearance on Aussie soil, with no 2 door varieties originally available for sale in Australia. This rare little 2 door underwent a complete restoration back in 2015 over in England and was well documented with over 40 images of the process. This work resulted in what you see today with an original 2 door Cortina that has remained true to form with all original parts remaining with the vehicle. From the outside this Cortina presents extremely well top to bottom, with it’s glossy factory colour ‘red pepper’ paint and black coated undercarriage. The original registration sticker is still sported on the windshield, with the expiration date of October 1972! Exterior wise the avid Ford enthusiast may notice that cosmetically the lights and grill are not the original single head lights, however the original lights and grill are still with this vehicle and can be put back on at the new owners discretion. Open the doors to this rare coupe and you are greeted with a black upholstery which is in excellent condition, with the only evidence of wear being a small tear on the drivers seat bolster the width of a pen. The aftermarket radio is the only thing that appears out of place in this early 70’s interior. Under the hood you will find the original matching number 1600 motor that has been well looked after and runs and drives as it should. This is mighty 4 cylinder engine is matted to a 4 speed manual transmission, the same of which to that when it left the factory floor. The engine bay is as clean as the body and has been finished in the same ‘red pepper’ paint as the exterior. This vehicle would make an excellent show car due to it’s rarity and ability to spark conversation. Overall this Cortina is a true survivor and presents extremely well and is ready to turn key enjoy as is, or use the included original parts to return it to it’s original glory.
