1972 valiant charger vh 3 spd automatic coupe

I purchased this Charger in 2002 and have always had the goal of getting the mechanics sweet, and to look at getting the body work done at a later date. I am not someone who has much knowledge about mechanics, so whilst I have had to outsource all of the jobs which needed to be done to keep the charger running, it also means that I have a full history of all mechanical repairs which have been done to her. Yes, it cost more to get the work done this way, but at least whoever purchase this girl will have a full repair history since I owned her (Full receipts of each repair and purchase). The person who buys this charger should be aware that the body work is the last significant thing which will need to be done. Yes, there will be some rust, however all rust which would make it unroadworthy has been taken out in the recondition. Please note that there are no VIN plates, and this was the case when I bought her in 2002.

The engine recondition and the exhaust system replacement has made the old girl purr like no other V8 I have ever heard. She is not super loud, but still loud enough to make a statement and to turn heads whenever she drives by. The interior is in solid condition and nothing to sneeze at, and the vinyl dash is in great condition.

If you do not like the CM front, I have bonnet and side panels (second hand and will need rejuvenation), and a Chromed New Old Stock Chrysler by Chrysler front which could be fitted to her. I also have Chrysler and Valiant badges which could be fitted to the car when the body work is done. These items are NOT included in the sale, but I’d be happy to discuss if you were interested.

Currently on NSW Historic Registration. This registration is not transferable, so the Charger would be unregistered upon purchase.

Charger Repair Timeline

2002 - Purchased Charger - Always garaged

2002 - Brake system replacement

2002 - Suspension system replacement, including shocks

2003 - Automatic transmission recondition

2003 - Full engine recondition including (Acid clean block, Sport Port and polish, flat top pistons, stage 3 cam) done at 147, 527km 2003 - Immobiliser fitted

2003 - Exhaust overhaul, including Pacemaker extractors, Dual 2 1/2 inch, resonators, and chrome tips.

2003 - Recondition of instruments (Speedo, Tacho, Fuel, Temp, etc)

2004 - New alternator

2004 - Fitted HPI Electronic Ignition

2004 - Ederbrock Manifold and Ederbrock 600 cmf Carburettor fitted.

2004 - High Torque starter motor replacement

2010 - Wiper bottle motor and fuel pump replacement

2010 - Full Electronic wiring replacement From Battery Terminal to taillights, new wiring, fuse box, horn, fan. Includes wiring for sound system which can be be installed at a later date.

2010 - Cooling fan and cooling system rejuvenation. Also conducted Dyno test at this time.

2011 - 2021 Charger taken off road, stored in garage on blocks

2021 - 2022 Charger Taken to David Wiggins Classic Mechanical for mechanical and body restoration which totalled over $31,000 in repairs. Many restoration jobs done, and was done so that the car would be road worthy for historic registration. Full list of repairs can be provided upon request.

2022 - 2024 Historic registration with pink slips passing with flying colours with a different mechanic. She is taken for runs for maintenance and easy cruising.
