When new in 1978 these cars were $87,000 and are now becoming a must have for Rolls Royce collectors and offer exceptional value. This Shadow II presents incredibly well with a lovely gleaming white paint finish. It has the feel of a low mileage, low ownership car and is structurally exceptional with a superb well-presented underbody and no signs of corrosion in the usual common areas such as wheel arches. The V8 6.8L Petrol engine purrs down the freeway and has ample power for all occasions, it is obvious this vehicle has been fully serviced and maintained throughout its life. The 3 speed Automatic Transmission has been fully serviced along with all other mechanical components throughout the vehicle including: Braking System, Power steering and suspension. You will never find a smoother drive than in a Rolls Royce, they are the Pinnacle of motoring excellence and Engineering. The leather beige interior is in good condition and the woodwork is beautiful. No less than eight individual Connolly hides were used to trim the interior of each car and the standard of finish on the upholstery, rich Wilton carpets and burr walnut veneers, are impeccable. The car has been fully restored to original condition and is mechanically brilliant, recently spending over $23,000 in receipts restoring all aspects of this vehicle from back to front, full list of work done and receipts are in the photos. No expense was spared, this car will provide years of trouble free driving. McDerrmotts Workshop the most qualified Rolls Royce Mechanical shop in Melbourne for over 50 years has placed their badge of approval meaning the car is sound throughout. Shadow II was launched in 1976, with deliveries beginning in February the following year. The updated Shadow II model incorporated a host of refinements, including a new facia, still in walnut burr veneer but with new gauges, while the Camargue model's advanced split-level air conditioning was adopted. Power assisted steering came standard with a smaller steering wheel and revised front suspension geometry, which meant less body roll. A twin exhaust system and SU's latest HIF7 carburettors boosted the power output whilst reducing fuel consumption, and there was an additional cooling fan in front of the radiator. External changes were kept to a minimum: new deformable bumpers with rubber inserts helped avoid low speed damage and a front air dam improved high speed stability. Rolls-Royce built 8425 Shadow IIs, plus a further 2135 long-wheelbase Silver Wraith II variants and 568 of the equivalent Bentley T2. Today, they are regarded as the most refined and best Shadows to live with day to day.
