The Holden name was not used in any of the vehicle badging or advertising. The Statesman was seen as a separate marque in an attempt to set the Statesman name above and apart from the run of the mill Holdens. The WB Series Statesman was released in May 1980 with production continuing until January 1985 with a total of 5,450 Statesman DeVilles and 3,055 Statesman Caprices being produced. The Statesman had a wheelbase some 3 inches longer than the sedan on which it was previously based, with the extra space being behind the rear door, giving significantly more rear legroom, whilst the six-light body gives that extra feel of spaciousness and brightness in the cabin. This WB Statesman DeVille finished in Sprindrift was sold new by Arthur Ellis Motors of West Heidelberg on the 10th January 1985. With an odometer reading of 82,114 km the DeVille presents very well with the Light Cerulean cloth and vinyl interior trim being in pristine condition. The under-bonnet presentation is very much standard without any add-ons and very good for a car its age.
