New Mustang Australian prices revealed
Available in both 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbo 4-cylinder and naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8 forms, the new, sixth-generation Mustang will start at a list price of $44,990 for the EcoBoost manual fastback, with the optional automatic transmission adding $3,500. The EcoBoost Mustang convertible lists for $53,990.
Expected to be the more popular choice amongst local enthusiasts, the V8-powered Mustang GT fastback will start at $54,990 for the manual and $57,490 for the automatic. Like the EcoBoost convertible, the Mustang GT V8 convertible will only be offered with an automatic transmission, and will top the locally-delivered lineup at $63,990. (NOTE: all prices are Manufacturer's List Price only and do not include on-road costs).
A range of extra-cost options will be available from launch, including prestige paint, Shelby GT-style racing stripes, a blackout roof treatment and premium 19-inch wheels.
As of the start of March, Ford say they already have 1,200 orders for the new Mustang, with a further 15,000 expressions of interest.
