Opportunities galore in Burns & Co’s December Classic & Collectable Car Auction
Burns & Co. are offering more than 60 lots in their December Classic & Collectable Car Auction, covering cars and selected memorabilia. Available vehicles include classic and modern Aussie muscle, American icons, all-time favorites and entry-level club cars, plus an outstanding selection offered with no reserve.
The auction will be held on Sunday, 8 December, 2024, at Burns & Co’s Melbourne auction rooms (4 Market Drive, Bayswater, VIC, 3153), with the first lot going under the hammer from 10:00AM AEDT.

Headlining the December auction is the first Datsun 240Z to land in Australia - build number 4 – that arrived here new in April, 1970. Retained by Nissan Australia for two years before going to public sale, this car featured in the local launch for the all-new Nissan Z in 2022.
Restored in the 1980s and with the current owner for more than 20 years, this internationally significant car has a fascinating back story that you can read about HERE.
Another very early, Australian-delivered Datsun 240Z (build number 60) will also feature in this auction, along with three former South Australian Police cars. Consisting of a Holden HZ Kingswood V8, VN Commodore BT1 V6 and VT Commodore LS1 V8, this very collectable trio come from a deceased estate and have been fully restored. Each car features police-spec heavy duty suspension and mechanical parts, along with period livery and equipment, including lights, sirens and more. Specialists in selling Australian classic and muscle cars, Burns and Co. has secured a great selection of Aussie favourites for this auction, including a 1977 Holden HX Monaro GTS, 1986 Holden HDT VL SS Group A, 1980 HDT VC Commodore, a couple of HZ Sandman panel vans, a 1970 Holden HG GTS 350 Monaro manual, a 197 Holden HQ Monaro GTS 308 coupe manual, a 1976 Holden LX SS hatchback and a 1976 Holden HX Kingswood ute.
Modern Australian classics include a 2015 HSV VF Clubsport R8, a supercharged 2002 VY Berlina V8 sedan and 2010 HSV E2 GTS, plus two late-model (2010 and 2016) HSV Maloo utes.
