PREVIEW – 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival
The 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival is just over a month away, with all the action set to take place on 25-26 March in the Victoria Park precinct of the South Australian capital – the same area that hosted the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in the ’80s and ’90s.
It all kicks off on Friday, 24 March with the ‘Peak Hour of Power & Street Party’ that will see rare racing vehicles, including former F1 cars, parade through Adelaide’s CBD. Starting in Victoria Park at 6:00PM, cars will parade through the city, arriving on East Terrace for a street party with bars, a DJ, celebrity driver appearances and more.
On Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 March, the Victoria Park section of the Adelaide Street Circuit comes to life for the ‘Victoria Park Sprint’. All manner of past and present four-wheel competition categories will be in action across the weekend, from Formula 1 to V8 Supercars, Heritage Touring Cars, Classics, Modified Sedans and Tipo F1 (older Formula cars), as well as an Invitational class.
Other special categories include McLaren, Porsche, Ferrari and electric cars, with motorcycles, drifting, Time Attack and GT cars also in action. Demonstration sessions are part of the mix, too, so there really is something for every revhead to enjoy!
The Victoria Park Sprint sessions run all day on both days – from 8:30AM to 5:30PM – with different categories on track every 10 to 15 minutes.
The laid-back, picnic-style atmosphere of the sprints means you can indulge in great local food, South Australia’s world-renowned wines and other beverages while enjoying all the on-track action from a premium Corporate Villa (including Aston Martin and Zagame VIP suites) or one of the many shaded lawn areas.
Away from the track, other attractions across the weekend include static car and motorcycle displays, the ‘RAA E-Motion Zone’ presenting the latest in electric mobility, as well as trade stalls, manufacturer displays, talks and presentations from a range of experts in the Grand Marquee and more.
There’s also a special ‘AMF Junior’ space with lots of kids’ activities running all weekend.
Spectator entry to the 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival Victoria Park Sprint is ticketed, with pricing at $60/person for a single day entry or $120/person for the weekend. Kids (5-16) tickets are $20 for a single day per child, or $40 for the weekend, with kids under 5yo admitted free.
