Seller's Description
1926 Cadillac Custom coupe by Fisher. Style #6088 with body #179 there are not many examples of this style that survive today. the 314 cubic inch V8 is sitting on its 138 inch wheel base this is a big impressive 4 passenger coupe. 36,000 miles on this rare car which was last registered in 1966 has been squirreled away for nearly 50 years having slow restoration work completed by 2 owners in that time. This model was introduced on the 1st January 1926, so mid season and the style was discontinued after the 1927 model year This is a good semi restored project, mechanically restored from the newly re- cored radiator through to its new large 4 wheels brakes and new Firestone tyres sitting on a very nice set of optional wire Buffalo wheels, comes with new GM engine pipes & mufflers (and a spare muffler), only needs some carbie & distributor work completed to get it running. The Body is solid and rust free and in primer, some new wood was installed where required, many years ago. Guards will need a little work, new running boards and the original tool & battery boxes are there, seats and interior are present all be it in pretty daggy vinal the rear seat have had new springs installed ready for covering, all inner door handles and gauges except the water temp, and in some case extra gauges also. A unique feature of this model is the wind up windscreen and the bug screen that can be installed to allow additional air through the interior, sure beats vents! Complete with a new set of spring gattors and jack are included. Some of the decorative wood is either in very good original condition or has been re-done. Car comes with components required to convert it to RHD if required. A wonderful well down the track of restoration with lots of the hard (and expensive) work already completed. A fairly easy project of a very rare car. Some original and reproduction literature is also with the car. Many more photos upon request
