PREVIEW - 2025 Camp Quality Blue Oval Show n Shine

Geelong, as many will know, was the birthplace of Ford Australia. Local operations commenced in 1925 and Geelong was the home for Ford’s manufacturing and assembly operations in Victoria until the Broadmeadows plant opened in 1959. Despite Australian manufacturing ending almost a decade ago, the passion for Ford in Geelong remains strong, as evidenced by the response to an all-new, Ford-only event that debuted last year – the ‘Camp Quality Blue Oval Show n Shine’.

Conducted by the Falcon GT Club Geelong as a fundraiser for Camp Quality, the 2024 Show n Shine saw 150 Ford vehicles attend, covering a diverse array of models and eras. That successful debut means the Camp Quality Blue Oval Show n Shine is returning in 2025.

All Fords this April

Open to all Australian, UK and US Ford and Ford family (Lincoln and Mercury) vehicles, the Camp Quality Blue Oval Show n Shine isn’t just for classic Falcons, Cortinas and Fairlanes. It’s open to new Mustangs, Rangers, F-150s, Everests and even Transit vans, as well as Ford-based hot rods and customs. If it’s a Ford, it’s welcome!

The 2025 Camp Quality Blue Oval Show n Shine will be held on Sunday, 27 April, at South Barwon Reserve (cnr Breakwater Rd and Barwon Heads Rd, Belmont), which is just a few minutes south of the Geelong CBD. There’s no need to pre-book your entry, simply turn up in your Ford on the day. Display car entry is just $10/vehicle, with a gold coin donation for spectator entry.

In addition to the cars, there will be a BBQ (conducted by Camp Quality), bar (run by event supporters, the Marshall Cricket Club), coffee van and trade stands on site. There’ll also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, plus trophies for the Top 5 Fords on the day.

All gate fees, raffle and BBQ proceeds go to Camp Quality, which is a charity the Falcon GT Club Geelong are particularly passionate about. Last year’s Show n Shine raised $4,500, while the club’s sponsored entries in Camp Quality ‘bash’ rallies in 2024 combined with others in the Victorian region (Southern Stars) to raise more than $140,000 for the charity. The three Geelong entries in Southern Stars raised a combined $59,000 last year.

More entries for the 2025 Camp Quality Blue Oval Show n Shine means more vital funds for Camp Quality, so get your Ford polished up and get it down to South Barwon Reserve on Sunday, 27 April. The event opens for display cars from 8:00AM, with spectator entry from 9:00AM. The raffle and Top 5 trophy presentations will be at approximately 12:30PM, with the event wrapping up at 2:00PM.
