In line (straight) eight cylinder of 248 cubic inch (four litre) capacity, with three speed column shift manual transmission. This vehicle is in very good mechanical condition, drives and stops well. Original interior, paint likely older restoration, in great condition with minor patina. However, the US and Australia entered into World War II and stopped building cars to focus on war machinery. So the components sent to Australia sat in storage until late 1946 when Holden resumed vehicle assembly and built a few of the Series 40 Specials, with the bulk built in 1947 and a few more carried over to 1948. These were the last of the Buicks assembled in Australia, any Buicks in Australia after 1948 were all imported fully assembled, usually RHD conversions.
