Beautiful 1953 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight, have only known of one more in Australia. This car was shipped from Springfield, Illinois five years ago. It has been an absolute pleasure to own, and I have cherished it, it’s a hard goodbye. Lots of man hours and work has been done on this car to get it on the road. Rebuilt 303 5L V8 bored out to a 330ci original Oldsmobile Rocket backed by the original Hydramatic four speed Automatic which shifts nicely. (roughly 300km on new engine) Has import papers Previous owner put a floor shift in, instead of the column. Car has an upgraded brakes system and also included in the sale of the car is a rebuildable Delco Moraine power brake unit (uninstalled). Power steering professionally rebuilt by OCD metal works turns the big girl with ease. Fuel tank cleaned out and refreshed. Electric Fuel pump. Brand new 12v battery with isolator switch. New wide whitewall Radial Tyres/ original bias ply spare in the boot. Original extras such as fender skirts with new rubbers and Sun visor All original interior and carpets in very good condition. Minor stains on front bench seat, no rips or tears on any upholstery. Car was resprayed at some point and underneath looks to have been redone before purchase. This beauty has its bumps and scratches, but this is expected of a car this age, still represents a genuine beautiful design from the era. Has always been on historic plates and driven to lots of car events with a lot of admirable attention. Brake switch lever needs replacing or rewelding.
