Seller's Description
Vehicle has new rear quarters fitted that are in undercoat. The rest of most all of the body is really good with exception to the following. The trunk floor has a section approximately 450mm x 200mm missing which will need to be filled. It must have had rust just at that point, someone cut it out, but did not finish the job. The rear floor pans will need attention as there is fibreglass resin atop of them. You can purchase them repro and they are not expensive. There is a dent on the LHS rear quarter just behind the door which is not the end of the world but needs pushing out. The top of the boot lid has some filler in it but as photos can show, the underside is fine. So the vehicle has not been a rust bucket which is evidenced from the gutters all around the car. The roof needs no attention nor do the doors, front fenders or the hood. The dash is perfect as well. However there is a small amount of rust in behind the head lights. It has a small block Chev engine with a manual trans fitted. According to the persons I purchased the vehicle from, the engine apparently was running but I have not run it and the carby is missing . It will need a nearly complete interior that can be purchased from either Impala Bob`s or Classic Industries for somewhere around $2000.00 USD which is not a lot of money. But all the seat frames are there and fine (with the old trim affixed). It does have a brand new red carpet kit from Classic Industries and a genuine style (star imprinted) roof lining supplied still in their boxes which would reduce the interior cost. All the trims are quite good with a few needing a little attention with panel beating. The front and rear bumpers are fine and the front and rear glass the same. There are some things missing like the headlight buckets and surrounds and one rear arm rest. Classic Industries can supply most every bit of a 1959 Impala (short of the body itself) from every little piece and with what is missing on this vehicle, it would not cost much at all to gather together those bits. The vehicle is really good and would take very little to get it to a paintable condition. There would not be many of these vehicles in Australia so someone who is Chevy Passionate or just wants a Classic car can enjoy a unique opportunity for one of these at a price that allows for finishing. In the condition this vehicle is in lets someone finish it off in their own way. It is not a rust bucket, you don`t have to look overseas as it is in the country, has the import papers with it and is available for around $21,000.00 AUD. I can be contacted on [email protected] or 0497820920 . The email option is better as reception at home in outer eastern Melbourne is very little as we are in a valley. If you ring and only get to leave a message, I will return the call from my home phone. I can send more photos if required. I have described the vehicle as best I can so you know what you are getting. I purchased the vehicle as is and am only moving it on because the kids want to build a different style of vehicle. It comes as is with no warranty supplied or implied. You can ask any questions you want and I will answer as best I can.
