1961 triumph tr3a 4 sp manual + o/drive 2d convertible

Just arrived - This 1961 Triumph TR3A is great value for money. The TR3A was the third best selling Triumph in its own right, with 58,236 cars total productuion from 1957–1962. In fact it was so successful that the original panel press tooling wore out and had to be replaced. The TR3A recieved a number of upgrades from their predecessors, the TR2. This included greater power and improved braking as well as restyling with a new full-width front grille, exterior door handles, a lockable boot handle, and later on 60 spoke wire wheels. The current owner purchased the car in Nov 1977 and immediately began a complete body off restoration. Rust repairs, body and paint were performed by A.F Jackson, while the engine was overhauled by Power Tune Motors. This restoration returned the car back to its factory specifications - save vinyl instead of a leather interior - and took 7 years to complete. Once the car was finally restored, it was entered in the TSOA Concourse at Middlebrook winery in Oct 1984 where it won best TR3A. Since the restoration, the car has travelled roughly 31,000 miles, all of which is documented in logbooks. The TR3 comes with an extensive file, full of reciepts of parts and maintenance over the years, date all the way back to 1982. This TR3A is powered by a 1991cc 4 cylinder motor, accompanied by a 4 speed manual gearbox that was optioned with overdrive on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. Finished in its original Red with a black vinyl interior, the paint has since aged - as you would expect after 40 years - but the body remains in good condition.
