This 1962 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster may well be the most original unmolested example in Australia. This time capsule has had one American owner and one Australian owner. This amazing Ragoon Red roadster is being offered for sale for the first time since it was imported from Tucson Arizona in 2010. Powered by a 390 cid V8 FE engine and 3 speed Cruise-0-Matic transmission. This classic is completely original except for the addition of an electric thermo fan, modern seat belts for LO2 Compliance and a modern stereo head unit under the seat. The pinnacle of the third generation Bullet Birds was this Sports Roadster package. The Sports Roadster was accented by special badging, a color matched passenger dash grab handle, and Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels with knock off style hubcaps. However, the primary difference was the removable tonneau cover that sealed off the back seat that didn’t limit the use of the power convertible top when in place. This striking addition transformed the four seat arrangement into a sporty two seater. It comes equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat and air conditioning. The limited-edition Sports Roadster was offered for only two years, 1962-63, and just 1,427 of them were sold in 1962.
