Seller's Description
1970 Mercury Cougar 2-dr Convertible powered by a no's matching 5.8L 351cui-2v V8 Ford Windsor small block engine and driven by a 3-spd Ford FMX 'Select-Shift' automatic transmission through a conventional rear differential with 2.75 highway gearing. Solid original body panels & paint, rust free floors, factory power steering, factory power front disc brakes, Marti Report verified. What you see here is a really well preserved car, which is an unmolested survivor. Only 2322 1970 Mercury Cougar convertibles were built, and this is only 1 of 9 in this paint/trim/accessories combination, so the odds of there being a twin out there at your local cars and coffee meet is highly unlikely. The car has recently had a brand new power convertible top installed, new brake hardware, new muffler and new fuel tank. It shows some dents and scratches here and there, particularly in the passenger side door, but overall given its age and originality, it is a very rare cat indeed.
