You are looking at a pretty rare wagon in Australia, Buick having only built 5440 of this model "44455" otherwise known as the SportWagon 400. This luxury longroof sports the cool tinted Skyroof glass panels that are in great condition. There is plenty of info on-line about this rare model and its stablemate, the Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. We believe the car was imported and converted to right hand drive back in the late sixties and seems to have lived mainly in Victoria before I purchased the car back in the early nineties, then sold it locally to a good buddy who has owned it for the last 14 years. He has asked me to find a new owner who will enjoy it as we both did. Somewhere in the nineties the original Buick 340 was removed and replaced with a Chevrolet 350 small block and Turbo 400 transmission. Lots of money has been spent on the car over the recent years with brakes being fully replaced or rebuilt, radiator recored, new Rochester carb and Edelbrock manifold. The wagon has provided plenty of trouble free mileage with its power brakes and responsive power steering. Body, paint and interior appear mostly original with some obvious wear and tear showing. Interior features fully tinted power windows and seat, plus has the bonus of working AM/FM factory radio. Power tailgate works from both the dash switch and tailgate switch. Heater blows hot while factory air conditioning pieces are included but were never refitted to the Chev motor. Factory 14 x 6 inch rally wheels and 225/70 Uniroyal Tiger Paw tyres give it a purposeful look. The Buick is currently on full registration which expires in November, but naturally is eligible for Club Registration.
