1968 Karmann Ghia, Type 14. This iconic vehicle, crafted with Italian design flair by Carrozzeria Ghia and meticulously hand-built by Karmann in Germany, stands as a testament to the era's exceptional craftsmanship. Originally delivered to H. Wilmont Richards on 7th August 1968 by Ahmed Motors in New York. Under the hood lies the original engine, matching numbers, running smoothly and producing the unmistakable sound of a classic 60’s sports car, enhanced by its dual carburettors and exhaust system. At some time in her life, circa 20 years ago, she received a fresh coat of Yukon Yellow L19K paint, a vibrant change from its original Gobi Beige. Notably, Yukon Yellow was also an authentic VW colour back in 1968, maintaining the vehicle's historical integrity. She has been preserved, rather than restored. It's not a show car, she has imperfections, we call it character; it's a driver's car, designed to be enjoyed on the open road.
