Offered for sale today is my beautiful Morris 1500. This car features the 5 speed overdrive transmission and Luxury Pack (full carpeting, faux woodgrain dash and gear knob, stainless steel side mouldings etc). This vehicle has never been smoked in and the ashtrays have never been used, it also looks like the passenger seats have never been used either. I have included some pictures I took while the interior was out, including the floors which could literally be eaten off and the underside of the seats showing the anodising still fresh on all the fasteners. This car is showing 21000 miles which is believed to be genuine, however there are no books to substantiate this. It was owned by an elderly lady who retired from driving and relinquished the car. I believe the car could well be a one owner… it’s certainly been extremely well looked after. There is no rust, and even the original punch tape computer printout was found under the carpet. The engine is showing 165psi compression in all cylinders and runs beautifully, even the underside of the rocker cover and the OHC apparatus was absolutely spotless. All restoration work was completed a month ago by a qualified senior motor mechanic. The vehicle is ready for RWC and has not been driven since completion, the tyres still have all the nipply bits on them. A comprehensive day by day account of the restoration with receipts and installation dates, plus a CD photo file will be included with the vehicle on sale. I gave this car a sympathetic refurbishment with the idea of keeping it long term, but the need to finance a couple of other projects means that I need to release one. Below is a list of some of the work performed: Overhauled front brake callipers with new pistons and brake pads. All new flexible brake lines and new wheel cylinders with new copper lines. overhauled brake and clutch master cylinders. New slave cylinder hose and overhauled slave cylinder with stainless sleeve. New electronic ignition system with new distributor cap, rotor button and spark plugs. New brass welsh plugs, inlet/exhaust gasket, rocker cover gasket etc. Oil and filter change, including new spare oil filter. New air filter and new spare supplied as well. New lower control arm bushes. New hub seals and tie rod end boots. New washer bottle and chrome bracket (MGB type). Radiator and heater core removed and sent to specialist for check/overhaul. New radiator hoses, heater hoses and fan belt. Lots of new high tensile bolts and fasteners. New wiper blades. New tyres that are yet to be driven on. Plus lots of other odds and ends have been replaced.
