1972 TRIUMPH TR6 SN:4357 VIN:S94089 ENG:CC75063UES $38,000 (To be sold Unregistered & with Vic RWC) RESTORED IN MALLARD GREEN WITH OVERDRIVE Following the Successful Introduction of Triumph's 2.5L Straight Six in the TR5 & TR250, Triumph started production on the TR6 in late 1968, ready for market in January 1969, with production continuing until July 1976, by which time 91,850 TR6's were built. Imported into Australia by TR Sports Spares of Kilkenny South Australia, this TR6 was then sold to a Triumph enthusiast in August 1991, who undertook the thorough restoration, and conversion to right hand drive. Major works started straight away, with the finished ‘Mallard Green’ TR6 first registered in March 1994, after a full repaint, mechanical/electrical rebuild and re-trim. Invoices and documents show the purchase and restoration costing $30,365.81 (near $66,000 in today’s money). Weather equipment is comprised of a hood, fabric hood cover and tonneau cover. Relocated to Victoria in 2011 after being sold, the Triumph’s maintenance was then handed over to ‘Uptech Off Road Centre’ in Monbulk, receiving a new windscreen and minor brake and suspension components for it’s Victorian Roadworthy. The rack and pinion steering is light and precise, directing the TR6 wherever you please, with the independent suspension at both the front and rear providing a smooth, compliant ride while the power assisted front disc brakes provide consistent and reliable stopping power, an ideal combination offering a real driving pleasure.
