Ford XA GT, build date August, 1973 Exceptional historical August, 1973 build Ford XA GT Falcon. Wild Violet with White Interior 4 speed Manual Option 99 Export Pack 9inch Diff, Disc Brake rear end, Manual Choke, Front Spoiler and Rear Spoiler, Boot Release 18th last XA produced and the last one to be exported to NZ for personal car for dealer principle in Auckland Ford Dealership, was exported with matching car, 1 of 3 in Wild Violet and White interior. I have Ford verification letter stating it is only 1 of 3 cars with this spec. Disk Brake Rear End and Holley Carbie is standard, parts from Phase IV/RPO’S that were applied to the last few XA GT’s and RPO’s. This car was part of the final RPO build in August, 1973. Only 17 more XA were ever produced, this is the last of the XA Falcons and last two exported to New Zealand. Ford NZ moved from Wellington to Auckland in the 90’s and documentation from pre 90’s cars was destroyed so it is difficult to trace car dealer delivery spec’s, why it had so many options remains a mystery, presumably a special build for dealer principle or maybe RPO with Option 99 specs. Car changed hands and ended up being purchased by Vern Muller of Vern Muller Racing in 1982 and used initially in a local NZ Muscle Car Masters in its early inception. While the car was raced Vern took out the original engine and used a donor race motor, he last raced it is 1986, as his race team grew he built a fully race optioned XB coupe and raced in NZ and even Australian Grand Prix in 2009. The XA original engine was reinstalled and Vern sold the car onto a drag race guy. Car was imported back to AU in 2011. I purchased the car in November, 2011 from a NZ guy who bought it over with him from NZ and had money issues when he got to AU so couldn’t restore as he planned. I purchased the car in race condition with only steel rims, no Fuel tank, 3inch exhaust system, Huge lumpy Cam, triple spring lifters, electronic ignition, Aluminium Radiator , Twin Thermo fans and extra gauges. 450HP on Dyno I have rebuilt engine with new pistons and Mild Cam and double lifters, exhaust has been removed and fitted with 2inch exhaust system, it is still a fast car but a great daily drive now. I have retained the Aluminium Radiator, Thermo fans and electronic ignition they are useful and can easily be replaced if you want to restore to original. The car was cleaned up and re sprayed 2 years ago. Interior is original, in tired condition but certainly does not need a new interior unless you want a mint car. The car has No rust or No Bog and as an overview is in very good condition, no surprises. Happy to share Mechanics and Panel beaters details for keen buyers.
