Seller's Description
For sale is one 1973 Holden HQ one tonner . Car is a beautiful example of a tough Ute ready to hop in and cruise. Currently sits on full QLD rego until August with 58xxxkm on the clock (assuming since rebuild). Previous owner fully restored the car in 2006 taking the running gear out of a statesman deville and adding some hot rod bits after a full bare metal respray in a lovely burnished brown. Mods are as follows; (All mod plated) - Mild cammed 308 rebuilt by Bryant engineering, blueprinted and balanced - Pacemaker headers flowing into a 3 inch dual exit stainless exhaust, produces a full throaty noise without the raspiness - Holley 650 double pumper carb - ICE electronic ignition system - Th350 box rebuilt by Bob Grant autos with a B&M quicksilver ratchet shifter - Hardy spicer tail shaft running to a Ford 9 inch diff with 3:77 gearing - 110L fuel cell with an electric fuel pump and Holley regulator - Front disc brake conversion from Castlemaine rod shop - 14in Cheviot hot wire wheels all round wrapped with fresh tyres - 2in lowering blocks in rear and lowered king springs on the front dampened by koni adjustable shocks all round - Custom modified one tonner tray that’s been narrowed and cut for a sleeker look - Storage cavity in tray where old fuel tank was - Re-trimmed and modified bench seat to allow for ratchet shifter. - Statesman power steering - Statesman brake booster and reservoir This thing absolutely launches with the 308 and 3:77 gearing combo and is sure to put a smile on your face. All work has been done beautifully and it’s more than reliable enough to daily drive if you wanted. I drove it from Qld to Canberra without an issue. If you like the look of this ad and love one tonners or old Holden’s then you won’t be disappointed. Now for the honest not so good things: - Paint isn’t immaculate and has slight bubbling as shown in photos in two locations on LHS, can only see it in certain light and is very minor. - Light surface rust underneath RHS door as shown in photograph, this is the only rust I’ve been able to find on the car. - Power steering box has a slight leak and is in need of reco unless you don’t mind topping up the fluid once a month - - That’s honestly all that’s wrong with it, pretty good for a 50 year old car and you won’t have any surprises now. Things ready for roadworthy in your state. - - I’m asking $30,000 for it, I’m in no rush to sell but may adjust for the right hassle free situation. - - Prepared to ship at your cost however it may cost more than normal cars due to the 2 in lowering blocks. - - Located in Googong NSW. Don’t waste my time if you don’t have the money or are undecided. - - Message me whenever with any further questions. Kieren.
