Just arrived - This 1975 Chrysler Valiant VJ Utility is good value for money. The successor to the VH, the VJ recieved fresh styling with a new grille, round headlights and revised tail lights, along with improved trim and a range of colours. They also came with an Electronic ignition system, which was the first time it was available in an Australian built car. 14,856 utilities rolled off the production line from 1973 to 1975. This VJ was purcahsed by the current owner in 2022 from VIC and has had lots of money spent on it since. Originally a 215ci Hemi, the VJ is now powered by a 265ci inline 6 cylinder Hemi that was fully rebuilt in June of 2023, totalling approx. $12,500, which was performed by G-Tek Automotive Repairs. The motor now sits at 30 thousand overbore, with a ported head, hardened valves, E49 camshaft, ARP rods and pistons, headers, and a 350 Holley carburettor on top. The original 3 speed column shift manual has been upgraded to a T5 Borgwarner 5 speed floor shift manual transmission, and an aluminium radiator with shroud has been fitted. The interior is complete with an E55 fishscale dash and a new tonneau was fitted to the VJ in 2017. The previous owner also fitted Thor airbag assisted rear shocks. In 2024, the car recieved some rust repairs and a respray, performed by Marz and Cars at a total of roughly $6,000.
