This Sundowner was top of the range in 1977 ( basically an XC GT panelvan) including such features as 351 4V Cleveland motor, 4 speed Single Rail gearbox, 4 wheel disc brakes, Borg Warner LSD, GS Rally Pack which included full instrumentation, sports steering wheel, 12 slot wheels, driving lights and several body styling enhancements. The body was taken back to bare metal, any rust was replaced with new metal and then the van was painted in original Blue Steel metallic, this work was carried out by Kustom City-Gold Coast in 2008. Over the next two years the Sundowner was rebuilt using either reconditioned or new old stock parts, getting it back to how it left the Ford factory in 1977. The motor (not matching numbers) was reconditioned by Gold Coast Engine Rebuilders in Burleigh Heads, the gearbox was rebuilt by All Transmissions in Currumbin. First re-registered in June 2010 it has always been garaged and had a car cover, it’s in amazing condition and drives like it’s brand new and has only been driven locally covering only 2000k since restoration.
