PREVIEW - 2025 Corvette National Convention

Well known for the ‘Elvis Festival’ that’s held every January, Parkes will celebrate another American icon this March when more than 100 Chevrolet Corvettes converge on the New South Wales town for the 2025 Corvette National Convention (CNC).

The NSW Corvettes Unlimited Car Club are hosting this year’s CNC – Parkes Alive in 2025 - with three days of Corvette-only activities this 28-30 March. As Parkes and nearby Forbes were devastated by floods in 2022, the club selected this region for the CNC as a way to help those communities recover.

A truly National Convention

Based on the turnout for the 2023 CNC, Corvettes from every state and territory are expected for the 2025 CNC, which kicks off on Friday, 28 March with a meet and greet for registered entrants.

NOTE: Registrations for the 2025 CNC must close by mid-March. Corvette owners not already registered should contact the NSW Corvettes Unlimited Car Club ASAP to book their place.

Vettes on Show

The main display day, when the public can see amazing examples of America’s Sports Car up close, is on Saturday, 29 March at the Parkes Showground. Corvettes will assemble for a drive through the heart of Parkes - down Clarinda Steet and past Cooke Park – to the Showground for a Show 'n' Shine from 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

At the Show 'n' Shine, you can expect to see iconic first-generation Corvettes, the sleek C2 Sting Ray, muscular C3, restyled C4 and more familiar C5, C6 and C7 generations. The revolutionary, mid-engined C8 Corvettes, which include the new E-Ray and mighty Z06, will also be on show.

NOTE: Corvettes not registered for the CNC are welcome to display, but will be ineligible for judging.

Food trucks will be on site, along with Shannons Insurance and Parkes Shire Council, plus the latest vehicles from GMSV. Merchandise from the NSW Corvettes Unlimited Car Club will be available, so if your budget can’t stretch to a new Corvette from GMSV, you can at least purchase a ‘Vette memento or two!

For registered CNC entrants, a special dinner at the Parkes Golf Club follows the Show ‘n’ Shine.

Cruisy Sunday

On Sunday, 30 March, CNC entrants will take part in a cruise, with one group travelling north to the Parkes radio telescope made famous in the 2000 movie, The Dish, and a second group heading south to visit McFeeter’s Car Museum in Forbes.

The two groups will converge at Lions Park in Forbes for lunch, providing a second opportunity for the public to see the Corvettes up close, before covering each other’s route in the afternoon.

Sunday evening’s Gala Dinner for registered CNC entrants at the Parkes Services Club includes an auction and raffle, plus presentation of the Show ‘n’ Shine awards.

Monday, 31 March, is the farewell day for Parkes Alive in 2025, when ‘Vette owners head home with old friendships renewed, new friendships made and memories of another great Convention.
