You are looking at a very rare Buick I purchased recently to use for the coming cruising season, but have decided to finish one of my other projects instead. These first generation "H-bodied" General Motors vehicles are extremely hard to find in Australia, although lots of bits and pieces are shared with the Chevrolet Monza, Oldsmobile Starfire and Pontiac Sunbird. There is great parts back-up available and heaps of interest on-line and in the collector forums. I understand this car was privately imported and converted back in the seventies, hence is fully optioned. The three door body on my Skyhawk is in real nice condition, including the brilliant paint which appears to have been resprayed at some stage. Although the paint does show some small marks it is not faded or patchy. Panels are nice and straight. Stainless steel roof crown molding is an unusual optional extra. Standard Buick 3.8l ( 231 cube ) V6 and console shifted automatic are in great condition with engine parts easily available in Australia due to the link with the GMH Commodore 3.8litre. In fact a new water pump and clutch fan ( plus new battery ) have recently been installed. Power front discs and rear drum brakes pull car up no problem but pedal is a bit spongy so I would assume a brake bleed is overdue. Car has just completed an interstate trip. Perfect for a great club car or an everyday driver. The original cloth and vinyl interior is almost mint with no rips or tears in the bucket seats, dash and door trims, while plastic trim is nice but has faded in some spots. These bits could easily be resprayed. The rear seat folds down flat which gives a large flat area for storage. Tilt power steering with sports wheel, power windows, heater and air conditioning are all standard and work. Sports instrumentation is included, including factory fitted tacho. AM/FM radio works. Optional Buick Rallye rims are fitted with as new (2018 dated) tyres. Victorian registration has just been cancelled and I have not arranged South Australian rego.
