This Japanese import is a 1978 Porsche 911 Super Carrera. Has an Air Cooled 3.2 Litre engine, paired with a 915 LSD gearbox. If you’re looking for a motor bike on 4 wheels, then this is for you ! This is an opportunity to own an iconic brand, a peace of history and an appreciating asset ! As a true Porsche enthusiast, you would know Porsche haven’t built air-cooled engines since the 993 series. The rawness and mechanical feel of the early model air cooled 911’s are what the Porsche purest keep talking about ! Let’s begin with a little history regarding this girl. Vehicle originally was imported to Japan then made its way to W.A. Australia & Vic. The chasis / body is fully galvanized which Porsche introduced to their cars in 1976. Its 3.0 litre sportmatic engine has been upgraded to the ever reliable 3.2 Litre engine ( unlike the the 2.4L & 2.7L hand grenade engines). Engine has been fully rebuilt with larger cams to suit. Vehicle is running the throaty 46mm Weber Carburetors which have been hydro blasted together with the inlet manifold. Webers have been fully refurbished with all new bushes and has been hot run tested by renowned Weber tuning specialists B&M Wilson Carburetor Service in Airport West. Gear box is a fully reconditioned 915 with LSD which has had new gear synchros / seals etc. replaced. New Wevo 915 street lite clutch kit and RSR lightweight flywheel has also been installed. It also has a short throw Wevo shift kit and Wevo Engine Mounts. New drive shafts and CV’s have also been replaced with new Bilstein Coil Over Suspension. It also has a 935 rear spring plate kit installed . Replacement of all suspension bushes & rubbers has also been carried out. Ferodo Front and Rear Brake pads have also been installed. Dansk Dual Stainless Steel Exhaust for better sound and performance has been installed, enhancing the Air Cooled Engine & Webers induction sound ! A brand new genuine Porsche fuel tank has also been installed by Porsche Centre Melbourne due to its original tank receiving a minor puncture. Wheels and Tyres are 7” &; 9” Fuchs with new genuine Porsche Centre Caps. Tyres for Fronts are 205/55 R16 & Rears 255/50 R16. Tread left is approx. 95% as very minimal km’s have been travelled since replacing tyres. Lots more mechanical repairs, maintenance and upgrades have been carried out over the years such as front bonnet hood pins as well as a RUF steering wheel. Interior has had a full make over with RS style bucket seats, door cards and yellow pull strips. It has a light weight 1/2 roll cage installed with a “OMP” 5 point seat belt latching / buckle which is attached to the roll cage. Complementing the interior are Rennline Driver and Passenger Aluminum floor boards which have been powder coated in a black finish. For your convenience you have electric power windows. New steering column switch has been installed and separate relays for both Low & High beam headlights to protect headlight switch. For your safety, dual Fire Extinguishers have been installed just in front of both front seats. Further safety precautions taken is the install of an isolating switch within the cabin for the main battery cable. It has a Monit G-100 Rally Trip computer / GPS monitoring system for displaying speed / distance / lap times etc. ( if you choose to track your car ). In mentioning the above, car has not being tracked, just looks like a race car ! It also has had a centre console installed for your convenience. Rubbers all-round including impact bumper bars front & rears, windows, door seals, lenses and centre rear reflector have all been replaced with new genuine Porsche parts. A recent service has just been completed replacing Engine Oil, Oil Filter and Spark Plugs. Car has been previously registered on Full registration in W.A. and in Victoria. There is a folder accompanying the sale of this classic Porsche 911 SC which includes history, invoices with description of works carried out and parts with over $100k+ of upgrades spent over the years. Do not believe that a LHD vehicle is less desirable! In Japan, you have option of driving either a RHD or LHD vehicle. The reason as to why they order LHD vehicles is because it is a stature, considered more desirable and more prestigious ( being European ) and the fact that the whole world is your market if you decide to sell over seas. You are not limited to just a handful of countries if vehicle is RHD if and when you decide to sell. Note: Selling with a RWC. Vehicle is not currently registered .
