1979 clenet continental series i roadster

A total of 250 factory-authorized Clénet Series I, cars were produced by Clenet Coachworks, Inc. The Clenet is not a kit car. Far from it! It is a fully fledged production vehicle! The upscale vehicle manufacturers of the depression years were producing rolling chassis with a cowl, hood and grille. A coach builder would then manufacture a custom body to suit. Clenet, did the same, ordering from LINCOLN/MERCURY full size rolling chassis, with diff. transmission, engine, etc, he then added a highly modified MG roadster body. He designed the remainder of the car to blend these store bought parts together with seamless grace. In doing so he was able to conform to the State and Federal CAFE standards. The chassis, wiring, engine/driveline were already engineered and were USA compliant. The bodies were already engineered with impact beams, hinged doors, etc, he now had the artistic, creative freedom to produce the ultimate in Neo-Classical design. 1979 Clenet Continental Roadster #206 of 250 series 1 (one) 13500 miles. Before my tenure, it was a one family owned vehicle, original car, never restored, never been in an accident, no rust and in exceptional condition.
