Seller's Description
We are the 3rd owners of this little ripper and have owned it for about ten years. 2 litre original engine, and possibly the straightest Kombi in Australia. I have included photos before I had it painted to show why I bought it in the first place… the straight, rust free panels. As shown in the photos, the front was bare metal resvetored to eradicate any stone chip evidence. This is my sixth kombi in thirty-six years, and I can say with genuine insight that it is a dream to drive. Some Kombis are better than others. All 2 litre engines are not equal. This is one of the best. Keeps up with the traffic comfortably. I have original literature, and sales receipts to verify third owner and engine status. This has been my daily driver for 10 years. Includes four bow roof rack and original kombi campmobile tent (impractical, but way cool). The first owners used it is as a family school run/sports run vehicle; hence it’s very well looked after condition. Reliable vehicle, and regularly serviced by Nymeyer’s at Belmont North (Lake Macquarie), Penfolds at Georgetown (Newcastle), and Gary Moody at Bellingen -all excellent VW mechanics, and all evidenced in folders. The owner is not a ‘mechanical fiddler’ - unlike many VW owners, and this car is maintained by people who know their craft. FEATURES: Original engine. Original books and maintenance schedules. Straight (by nature, not a panel beater). 3rd owner. Regularly serviced by mechanics. Spotlights on front. Spotlights on rear for reversing. Towbar 600-watt Inverter. Radio 'bypass switch' - so that stereo works without ignition on. Campmobile tent. 4 bow stainless steel and timber roof rack. CD/USB/radio/accessory player, and speakers front and rear. Parcel shelf in front. Full hood lining. LED strip light in the back, under hood lining looks awesome. Some minor parts - globes, mirrors, wipers, seatbelts etc. As this is a daily driver it does have a few little chips in the paint and a small tear in the new hood lining, but it is a beautiful example of a 1979 VW Kombi. I would be surprised if the first serious looker did not purchase this car. Registered until November of this year. Has enough seats for 8 people.
